When I started online(years ago), I had heard of the word niche but didn’t fully understand the concept and why it was so important for your online marketing. Back when I don’t recall seeing any proper information or training being offered so it was all hit and miss.
In truth, I never did find the proper niche when I had a website and it ended in failure. Finding your niche market is one of the most challenging obstacles when you first start out.

What Is A Niche Market?
The simple defination of “niche” is an audience looking for something. This group of people are interested in something specific. They could be looking for simple information, products to buy or help, really just about anything you can imagine. Please remember a “niche” is not a product.
When Choosing Your Niche
Make sure you pick a niche that suits you. Ideally your niche will be based on things that interest you. Do you have a passion? Do you have a favorite hobby? Do you have a problem? Your niche will be based on your points of interest. Every single niche can earn money because there are over billions of people searching everyday. It should be fun earning money on line and it starts when choosing your niche that you are interested in and enjoy working with.
Before You Get Started Think Group of People and Then Ask Yourself
- What are you truly passionate about and do you have lots of knowledge?
- What group of people are you looking to help?
- What subject can you write about for the next 3-5 years without losing interest?
- Are you a people person? Do you enjoy helping others?
Once you address these questions, you will now have a direction on what your website will be about.
This is what you will be doing with your niche website:
- Writing content
- Communicating
- Choosing products to promote
- Helping people
- Any niche can earn money and become a full-time success
You Don’t Want Groups of People to be too BROAD!
When finding a niche to many people for their first try, make the mistake of picking a broad niche. That’s the worst thing you can do! For example, lots of people are interested in the health niche. Wow, this covers everything related to health, it’s much too broad. And besides health is not a niche because it is too broad. This group of people you cannot effectively target.
How Do You Effectively Target The Health Niche?
You will have to dig a little deeper and come up with a specific target niche. 
I have made a list of target niches below using the health niche. This is just an example and it can be used for any niche.
Targeted niches are:
- Foods that help acne
- Weight training over 50 years old
- Foods that lower blood pressure
- How to be a healthy vegetarian
Remember there are millions of people looking to buy, or help for a cure or just informatiom. What they are not looking for is health. I hope you see where I am coming from with this example.
I did another targeted niche example using Laptops:
- laptops dual core
- portable projectors for laptops
- best laptops under 500
- gaming laptops under 500

There are literally thousands of targeted groups = niches that are waiting to be tapped into. It’s up to you to get specific with your niche and in the end you will be able to capitilize on all of this through your niche website!
Making Money Within My Niche
Sadly too many people are more concerned about when they will make money. They fail to understand that making money is the end result of a lot of hard work. No it doesn’t happen over night as a lot of internet gurus lead you to believe. There is a 7 step process that you need to understand before you can make money within your niche market.
- Picking your niche
- Building your site out by writing about your niche content
- Getting ranked in the search engines
- Driving traffic to your site
- Connecting and building a relationship with your visitors
- Gaining their trust
- Earning commissions by recommending products
This all depends on how much time and effort you are willing to devote to your business. This will determine how quickly you can earn money from it. This is hard to predict because everbody has a different learning curve.
